I have many words to describe Newt Gingrich - buffoon, dirtbag, lech (as in lecherous bastard) - but his subtle, and effective, race-baiting campaign in South Carolina gives me something to really fight against.
I'm not sure what the tipping point was this weekend but I think it was seeing his big, fat, white-haired, white-bread face talking about - as if fact - the ignorance of Washington AND New York. Apparently people living there are unaware of the tremendous amout of "anger" out there. For those of you who missed. and dismissed his racial dog whistle of KKK clue-words in the SC debates, let's focus on another whistle. "New York" when spoken in that context means "Jews" - I don't know whether to hope Newt wins the GOP nomination or pray that Republicans realize the lunacy of a Gingrich presidency before it's too late for all of us.
The outrage will not subside until Gingrich is exposed and once again disgraced. Too bad being a horrible human being doesn't seem to matter to anyone - particularly the "religious right" - anymore.
